AI in Digital Marketing

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in digital marketing has evolved from notion to a game changer for today’s marketers. It’s become a powerful tool. With a simple few clicks you can drive personalisation, predictive analytics, customer experiences, and much more.

The introduction of AI has changed the marketing world. Apparently 80% of marketers have used or currently use AI tools to help create marketing content. The most common reason for the use of AI tools is efficiency/timesaving. 86% of marketers say AI has made them more efficient or saved them time.

Most AI marketing tools have seen huge growth in usage in the recent times. While ChatGPT may be the most talked about generative AI tool, there are so many more out there. Plenty of tools now are helping marketers in their daily roles.

Some of the Tools:

These are some tools that have seen a rise in use:

Canva:

  • In October 2024, Canva reported that its AI-tools had been used over 10 billion times up about 150% from the prior year.
  • In 2023, Canva users generated more than 12.4 billion words with the “Magic Write” tool a year-on-year rise of 313%.
  • More than 3.3 billion backgrounds were removed with Canva’s AI “Background Remover” tool in 2024, up 65% from 2023.

With tools such as these they can help marketers in a variety of functions. Ranging from content generation to automation to SEO and design.

There are some key skills that are required to being able to use AI to its full potential and give it what you want.

The key to using AI technology effectively is to make it fit in with your role. It’s not enough to know how to use AI. You also need to know why you’re using it. You need to understand the basics but also take a deep dive into AI. Use it to meet your goals; whether that be generating and nurturing leads or improving customer service.

Think outside the box:

But it’s not just about hard skills like coding or content marketing. Companies seek marketers with outside the box thinking and skills that make them solution focused.

Some examples of these skills are:

  • Strategic thinking
  • Innovation
  • Creativity
  • Agile thinking

These professional skills will help prepare for the inevitable AI driven marketing world.

Summary:

So, in conclusion, AI is no longer an optional tool but more of a necessity to stay within the rapidly growing landscape. From predictive analytics to smarter customer engagement and automated content creation, AI tools are transforming how marketers think, plan, and execute. For businesses using tools like Canva magic for design, Durable for website generation and HubSpot AI for automation.  With the help of these tools, marketers can produce far greater content and results.

AI isn’t here to replace the human touch, it’s here to improve it. The brands that learn to balance both, will be the ones leading the next generation of digital marketing success.
