But nothing is scarier to us than these 5 marketing mistakes! Keep reading, if you dare, to find out what marketing mistakes you should be avoiding this Halloween.
1. Inconsistent content
Make sure the content you’re posting is consistent. You can achieve this by developing a content calendar for social media and blog posts. This will help you stay organized and make it easier to post content regularly. Posting content regularly will help you receive more traffic to these outlets. Your content should especially focus on keywords. Keywords are a big factor when it comes to your website, blog, or social media content. We recommend that you use keywords that are related to your business and industry.
2. Not using SEO
As we mentioned previously, keywords are so important! Using keywords that are related to your industry can help you connect to customers that might be searching for a business like yours. A vital step to mastering SEO is making sure you’re optimizing page title tags with keywords. But SEO is not just about keywords. You should be including meta descriptions that contain information to help customers decide whether to visit your site or not. If you have a blog on your website, it should be formatted properly.
3. Focusing on your product more than your audience
Your customers are a top priority when it comes to your marketing strategy. Putting yourself in your customers shoes can help you see your business from a different perspective. Make sure that your content informs your customer. This content can address some of the questions they may have (like an FAQ section). This type of content can help future customers and encourage these customers to do business with you.
4. Not using video marketing
Video marketing is a great tactic used by businesses to increase engagement on social media. Video marketing also has great ROI (return of investment). According to HubSpot, 80 percent of customers were able to remember a video they watched in the previous month. We have found that video content is proven to be easier to remember than text-based information. You can start by creating video content to post on your social media pages.
5. Never networking
Networking opportunities such as events and conferences are an incredible opportunity for you. They enable you to learn, meet other people (some of who may work in your industry), make contacts, and increase exposure. Networking is so important in business and this step shouldn’t be forgotten about. We encourage that you also engage with customers as this is extremely important. If an opportunity to interact with customers, online or face-to-face, presents itself…take it!
